Caraxes

The Blood Wyrm
Description
Caraxes was red, huge, and lean. In battle he was formidable, fearsome, and experienced. During the Dance of the Dragons, Caraxes was about half the size of the huge Vhagar. Meanwhile, Vhagar was three times the size of younger dragons such as Tessarion or Seasmoke. Meleys was faster than both Caraxes and Vhagar.
In 105 AC, Prince Daemon Targaryen, Aemon's nephew, took ownership of Caraxes as his mount. During his escape from King's Landing to Dragonstone, he brought his lover Mysaria with him on Caraxes. In the War for the Stepstones (106-115 AC), Daemon employed Caraxes, dividing his time between the Stepstones and Dragonstone, where he often flew with his niece, Princess Rhaenyra, and her dragon Syrax. After marrying Lady Laena Velaryon, the newlywed couple toured the Free Cities of Essos with their dragons, Caraxes and Vhagar, drawing huge crowds wherever they went. During the onset of the Dance of the Dragons, Daemon directed Caraxes to land atop Kingspyre Tower while storming Harrenhal.
During a civil war, Daemon confronted Aemond Targaryen and Vhagar while riding Caraxes at Harrenhal. The battle resulted in the death of all four. During the fight, Vhagar and Caraxes fell into the Gods Eye while locked in combat. Despite Vhagar's attempt to attack Caraxes, the latter managed to tear out Vhagar's throat and both dragons perished upon hitting the ground. Although severely injured, Caraxes managed to drag himself to the shore before dying in front of Harrenhal's walls.
