House Velaryon

Description
House Velaryon is a noble family from the Crownlands of Westeros. They are one of the oldest and most prominent houses in the region, with a long and illustrious history dating back thousands of years. Their sigil is a silver seahorse on a sea-green field, and their words are 'The Old, the True, the Brave'.
The Velaryons are known for their seafaring prowess, and for centuries they were the dominant naval power in the Narrow Sea. They maintained a strong fleet of ships, which they used to trade with other kingdoms, to protect their own shores, and to project their power throughout the region. Many of their ships were adorned with the sigil of the house, and the sight of a Velaryon ship on the horizon was enough to strike fear into the hearts of their enemies.
In addition to their seafaring abilities, the Velaryons were also skilled warriors and politicians. They were involved in many of the major conflicts and power struggles of their time, and they frequently fought alongside their allies and vassals to defend the interests of the Crownlands. They were also known for their diplomatic skills, and they often served as intermediaries between the Crown and other houses.
Over the centuries, the Velaryons have produced many notable figures. One of their most famous members was Lord Corlys Velaryon, known as the 'Sea Snake', who was a renowned sailor and explorer. He was responsible for many of the Velaryon's greatest naval victories, and he is still revered as a hero by many in the region. Another notable member of the house was Lord Alyn Velaryon, who served as Master of Ships under King Jaehaerys I Targaryen. He was responsible for rebuilding the Iron Fleet, and for strengthening the royal navy.
n recent times, the fortunes of House Velaryon have waned somewhat. They have lost some of their former power and influence, and their fleet is no longer the dominant force it once was. However, they still command respect and admiration in the region, and many look to them as a symbol of the old traditions and values of the Crownlands. They continue to serve the Crown, and to uphold the ancient traditions and customs of their house.
